Sometimes the maintenance of a belief is deemed so important that impressive systems of propaganda are erected and vigorously defended by people who do not in fact share the belief that they think is so important for society to endorse. I received the Order from the Judge recently. And, apparently, the Shakespeare stunt worked. The Judge denied defendants’ motions to declare plaintiff (that’s me!) to have waived its right to present further evidence. Instead, we are being given three (3) more hearing dates for our witnesses. Awesome!

I was surprised to find this decision the other night while I was searching the Supreme Court database for cases on ‘real property ownership by foreigners’. Apparently, the Court had already decided on the Motion for Partial Reconsideration we filed while I was still with MABG. I did research and drafted the Motion. I signed it too (together with the handling partner, of course). Anyway, the more important thing, and the reason why am writing about it, is because our Motion was granted. In other words, PANALO! The Supreme Court reconsidered its decision.

When you can’t find legal basis, will Shakespeare do? I hope so. I am SERIOUSLY considering using this as a sort of preamble to my Opposition to defendants’ Motion that Plaintiff be to have Waived the Right to Present Additional Evidence.
